Men's basketball to host Albright in Commonwealth title game

Will Kelly
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – For the first time since the 2007-08 season, the Lycoming College men’s basketball team will be hosting the Commonwealth Conference championship game. The No. 1 seeded Warriors will face No. 2 Albright College on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 3 p.m. in Lamade Gymnasium. The winner of the game receives the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III tournament.

Second-year head coach Guy Rancourt has guided his squad to a 21-5 overall record to reach the title game. In the semifinals against Elizabethtown College on Feb. 24, junior forward Will Kelly posted a career-high 30 points, hitting four of his seven three-point attempts and all 10 of his free throws. Senior guard Eric Anthony tallied 19 points and four assists while sophomore center Mike Bradley grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.

Kelly leads the Warrior offense, averaging 15.5 points a game while Anthony is close behind at 15.4. The offense runs through the hands of freshman Jerald Williams, who has dished out 143 assists this year and needs 10 more to break the single-season school record.

Ticket prices for the game have been set by the Middle Atlantic Conferences’ office and are $6 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and $2 for students. Children under 6 will be admitted free of charge.
