WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore Elisa Becker (Reston, Va./South Lakes) posted three first-place finishes on Monday evening to lead the Lycoming College women’s swim team to a 107-70 win over Division II Mansfield University.
Becker helped pace Lycoming (1-3-1 overall) by posting season-best times in the 50-, 500-, and 1,000-yard freestyle, notching times of 26.93 in the 50, 5:35.94 in the 500 and 11:45.39 in the 1,000.
The Warriors started out the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, with senior Stacy Flick (Easton, Pa./Easton Area), freshman Ariel Smith (Hanover Township, Pa./Holy Redeemer), senior Melody Johnson (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg) and senior Kate Williamson (Audobon, Pa./Methacton) posting a time of 1:48.66.
Flick, who posted two individual wins and a relay win before departing for class, followed with a time of 1:13.17 to take the 100-yard breaststroke with Smith just behind with a time of 1:13.54.
The duo of senior Meg Emery (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock) and freshman Jennie Marosits (Mt. Lakes, N.J./Mt. Lakes) finished 1-2 in the 100-yard backstroke, with Emery taking the race in 1:05.73 and Marosits just a tenth of a second behind at 1:05.84.
Flick posted a time of 58.37 to win the 100-yard freestyle and sophomore Lindsey Hunsicker (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) and sophomore Hope Weber (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) followed by finishing 1-2 in the 100-yard butterfly. Hunsicker finished in 1:05.00, touching out Weber, who finished in 1:05.16.
Capping the night, Emery, Smith, Hunsicker and sophomore Caitlin DeAngelo (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) posted a time of 2:03.53 to take the 200-yard medley relay.
The Warriors will get back in action when they head to Swarthmore for the Swarthmore Invitational on Friday, Dec. 3, with the two-day event starting at 6:30 p.m.
