Women's swimming concludes 2009-10 season with 145-66 win over Arcadia

GLENSIDE, Pa
. - In its final dual meet of the 2009-10 season, the Lycoming College women’s swim team defeated Arcadia University 145-66 on Saturday, Jan. 23. The Lady Warriors captured first-place in all but one event they scored in.

Meg Emery took first in the 1,000-yard freestyle, followed by Melody Johnson and Kate Williamson. Emery touched in 12:27.87, Johnson in 12:39.35 and Williamson in 12:56.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Lindsey Hunsicker took first place in a time of 2:07.83. Finishing in second place was Elisa Becker, getting to the wall in 2:10.54.

The Lady Warriors swept the 100-yard breaststroke, paced by Emilie Norton with a time of 1:16.61. In second was Caitlin DeAngelo in 1:20.32 and in third was Claire Zido at 1:21.19.

Randi Bosch won the 100-yard freestyle in 59.35, narrowly edging Becker, who posted a 59.36. Lycoming also took first and second in the 200-yard backstroke.Hope Weber came in first at 2:23.61 followed by Johnson with a time of 2:33.28.

In the final scoring event of the event, Lycoming went one-two in the 200-yard breaststroke. Zido won the event in 2:47.40. Taking second was Ashley Tudgay in 2:48.28.

Lycoming is idle until the 2010 Middle Atlantic Conference championships, which will be held Feb. 15-17, at the Wilkes-Barre Catholic Youth Center.
