WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Lycoming College women’s swim team defeated King’s College 83-35 and FDU-Florham 83-38 in a Middle Atlantic Conference doubleheader on Wednesday, Jan. 20. The meet was held at the Wilkes-Barre Catholic Youth Center, which will also host the upcoming MAC championships Feb. 12-14.
Lycoming (6-3, 6-1 MAC) started the meet off with a win, with the group of Ashley Tudgay, Stacy Flick, Hope Weber and Randi Bosch finishing the 200-yard medley relay in 1:58.54.
Flick (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) placed first in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:07.34. She also finished first in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 26.06. In second place for the Warriors was Bosch (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) with a time of 26.83. Flick rounded out her day with another first in the 200-yard breaststroke, completing her lengths in 2:33.58.
Junior Meg Emery (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock Secondary) came in first in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in a time of 1:06.14, just ahead of teammate Caroline LeHota (Milesburg, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) with a time of 1:08.40. Emery also took a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, touching in 5:44.11.
Tudgay (Swoyersville, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) and Emilie Norton took first and second, respectively, in the 100-yard breaststroke. Tudgay finished in 1:12.59 and Norton (Winthrop, N.Y./St. Lawrence Central) at 1:18.14.
Tudgay also took first in the 200-yard backstroke, winning by more than 10 seconds in a time of 2:25.58.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Elisa Becker (Reston, Va./South Lakes) finished in first place, pacing the race with a time of 1:06.95, followed by Tudgay in 1:08.40.
Freshman Hope Weber (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:20.88, a full 15 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Lindsey Hunsicker (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) took first in the 500-yard freestyle, touching the wall in a time of 5:43.40.
The Warriors are on the road for their next meet when they travel to Arcadia University on Saturday, Jan. 23 for their final Middle Atlantic Conference meet of the season. The first event is set to begin at 1 p.m.
