EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. --- Jessica Nabholz tallied two hits on three at bats in game two of a double-header between Lycoming College and Wilkes University on Thursday, March 19. The Warriors were defeated in both games 6-0 and 11-3.
Lycoming is now 4-8 on the season while Wilkes is now 5-7.
In the first game, Kelly Prendergast got on base three out of three times at the plate, including reaching first after striking out swinging, but an error on the first baseman allowed her to get to the bag. In her first at bat, Prendergast got walked and in her third, she was hit by a pitch. Nabholz pitched a full six innings, striking out two batters and forcing seven groundouts.
Game two saw Nabholz grab two singles, and picking up an RBI after driving in Lauren Carey. Carey reached first on a base on balls before advancing to second on a wild pitch and third on an error by the catcher. Shauna Starr got on base on an error by the second baseman before reaching home and
scoring the second run of the game. Manda Peck scored the final run of Lycoming’s afternoon after hitting a three bagger and getting to home on an RBI from Starr.
Lycoming returns to the field on Saturday, March 21 when it travels to Chester, Pa. to face conference foe Widener University. The first pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
