Lycoming softball falls in double header against Lebanon Valley

Jessica NabholzANNVILLE, Pa. --- Playing against the defending Commonwealth champions, the Lycoming College women’s softball team fell in a pair of conference games, 4-0 in the first, and the Warriors were the victims of a perfect game pitched by Lebanon Valley 11-0 in the second game  on Saturday, March 14.

The losses drop Lycoming to 2-6 overall and 0-2 in the Commonwealth while the Dutchmen improve to

8-4 overall and 4-0 in the league.

In the first game, Lebanon Valley was able to score two runs in the first inning as the Lycoming defense settled in.  Jessica Nabholz pitched a full six inning game, getting three strike outs. The Warrior field players were able to force Lebanon Valley to strand seven players on base. Madalyn Smith recorded a team-high four put-outs.

Marissa HastingsIn the second game, the Warriors were the victim of a perfect game pitched by LVC’s Val Malizza, who threw all five innings, striking out 12 of 15. Smith, Kelly Prendergast, and Jessica Nabholz were all able to amass two put-outs apiece.

The Lady Warriors open their home season on Monday, March 16 when they host Penn State University-Harrisburg. The first pitch is set for 3 p.m. at the Robert L. Shangraw Athletic Complex.
