Lady Warriors fall to Albright 80-60 in season finale

Andrea CooperREADING, Pa. --- In its final game of the 2008-09 season, the Lycoming College women’s basketball team fell to Albright College on Saturday, Feb. 21 by a score of 80-60. Andrea Cooper and Jessica Zerbee led Lycoming in scoring with 15 points apiece.

With the loss, the Lady Warriors conclude their season with an overall record of 15-9 and 4-8 in the Commonwealth Conference. Albright is 17-8 overall and 8-4 in the conference.

Zerbee gave Lycoming an early 8-4 lead after she hit a jumper at 16:05. The Lions clawed their way back into the game, knotting the score at eight after a layup by Rose Williamson at 14:41. From that point, Albright never looked back, building up to a 22 point lead.

Zerbee was the leading rebounder for the Warriors, grabbing seven boards. She also shot 6-of-9 from the field and was 2-for-2 from the line.

Four Albright players found double-digits, with Annie McMahon setting the pace with a game-high 17 points. She also recorded 15 rebounds. Bre Dillion was second in scoring with 15 points. The Lions were successful from the floor, shooting 47.6 (30-63) percent.

With the conclusion of the season, the Middle Atlantic Conference will be announcing its All-Conference teams following the finals of the Conference championships. Stay tuned at www.lycoming.edu/athletics
