With the loss, the Warriors are 15-7 overall and 4-6 in the Commonwealth Conference. The Pride improve to 15-8 and 6-4, and Widener has secured a spot in the Conference playoffs.

A tough Warrior defense held Widener’s top-two scorers (Fleming and Casey Pritz) to just nine first-half points. Fleming averages 13.2 points a game while Pritz averages 11.8.

Both teams kept things interesting in the first stanza, with neither team gaining an advantage of more than four in the early goings. The Warriors grabbed a three point advantage at 13:46 as Rebecca Leid scored a lay-up.

But the Pride battled back, eventually taking a four-point lead at 9:55 when Lindsey Isler knocked down a three-point shot. Widener built its lead, going up seven at 2:23 on a Danielle Welting jumper. Lycoming would head into the locker room down 31-26.

The second 20 minutes was a different story for the Warriors, in which 11 turnovers resulted in 13 of the Pride’s 31 second half points.

Lycoming found itself down early at 16:52 as Pritz made a layup. The Pride continued its lead, going up 48-29 on a pair of free throws by Isler.

Leid and Andrea Cooper were the leading scorers for the Warriors, Leid  with 19, including 10 in the second half, and Cooper with 11. Alicia Engler chipped in nine points and was the game leader in assists with four.

The Lady Warriors struggled from deep, hitting just two of their 11 outside shots, but were able to hold Widener to a 36.4 (20-55) shooting percentage.

Lycoming will be back in action on Tuesday, Feb. 17 when they host the #8 Messiah Falcons. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. The Lady Warriors will also honor their senior, Andrea Cooper, before the game.
