--- In the 2009-10 Commonwealth Conference opener, the Lycoming College men’s basketball team battled a Lebanon Valley College, falling 70-67 on Wednesday, Dec. 2. Junior Will Kelly posted a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds for the Warriors.
Lycoming suffers its first loss of the season and is 5-1 overall and 0-1 in the Commonwealth while Lebanon Valley improves to 4-3 and 1-0 in the league.

The Dutchmen had an eight-point lead with 5:54 left in the game, but a pair of free throws from Kelly (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) cut the deficit to six, 63-57. Freshman Jerald Williams (Riverdale, Md./Bladensburg) helped Lycoming to within four points after coming up with a steal and fast break layup.

After Lebanon Valley hit the front end of a one-and-one, Kelly scored a layup and pulled Lycoming to within one possession, 64-61. Kelly received a pass from Eric Anthony (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Central Catholic) outside the arc and knocked down a three-pointer to get Lycoming down one, 67-66 with 1:54 remaining in the game.

Trying to gain possession, Anthony fouled a Dutchmen player, who hit one of his two free throws. The Warriors got the ball back in their offensive end, where Kelly put up a three for the win, missed and Anthony came up with the offensive rebound.

Johnanthan Williams (Bronx, N.Y./Rice) put up a layup, and grabbed his own rebound before a jump ball and a foul gave Lebanon Valley the ball back. The Dutchmen again could only convert one of two free throws.

Driving across the midcourt, Anthony was fouled and a free throw pulled Lycoming back to within two, 69-67. Anthony went for the intentional miss, but Lebanon Valley grabbed the rebound and hit one final free throw to seal the win, 70-67.
