Lady Warrior hoops falls 75-60 to Wesley

CENTER VALLEY, Pa.
--- In the second game of the DeSales University tournament, the Lycoming College women’s basketball team could not stave off a second-half surge by Wesley College, falling to the Wolverines 75-60 on Saturday, Nov. 21.
 
With the loss, Lycoming drops to 1-1 on the season while Wesley improves to 2-0.
 
Both teams traded the lead early in the first half, with the Lady Warriors going up 14-10 after freshman Leeann Randall (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) knocked down a three-pointer. 30 seconds later a three-ball from Jessica Zerbee (Ducansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg) gave Lycoming a 17-10 lead.
 
Zerbee scored a running layup, with Alicia Engler (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) on the assist, giving the Warriors a nine-point cushion, 19-10. The Wolverines chipped away at the lead, narrowing the gap to 26-23 mid-way through the first half.
 
Allison Mock (State College, Pa./State College) knocked in a three-pointer to rebuild Lycoming’s lead to 29-23. The game went through a three minute scoreless period be Randall knocked down another three point shot to give Lycoming a 32-26 lead with 5:41 remaining in the first.
 
After a Kaitlyn Ober (Lititz, Pa./Warwick)layup, the Lady Warriors took a slight 38-36 lead into halftime.

The momentum of the game shifted towards Wesley, which came out of the locker room and tied the game 14 seconds into the fresh period with a layup. The Wolverines picked up a two point lead at 17:50 and did not trail the rest of the game.
 
Four different Lady Warriors reached double digits in scoring, led by Mock, who scored 14 points. Zerbee finished the night with 10 points and three assists while Ober recorded 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Engler tallied 10 points and a team-high six assists.
 
The Lady Warriors will face Juniata College in the consolation game of the tournament. Tip-off is set for Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. The Eagles fell to host DeSales University 71-70 in overtime.
