Women's swimming handles Etown 162-95

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.
--- Two Lycoming College women’s swimmers picked up two first-place finishes as the Lady Warriors defeated Elizabethtown College 162-95 on Saturday, Nov. 14. Hope Weber and Ashley Tudgay each picked up wins.
 
The win improves the Lady Warriors to 2-2 on the year and 2-0 in the Middle Atlantic Conference while the Blue Jays fall to 2-1 overall and 2-1 in the MAC.
 
Weber (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) picked up individual wins in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:04.99 and the 200-yard backstroke with a final time of 2:20.73. She also swam the first leg in the 200-yard medley relay, with the team of Stacy Flick, Lindsey Hunsicker and Randi Bosch winning the event in a time of 1:57.84
 
In the 50-yard freestyle, Tudgay (Swoyersville, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) and Bosch went one-two in the event, Tuday finishing in 26.38 and Bosch (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) touching in 26.78. Tudgay nabbed first in the 100-yard freestyle in 58.29, two seconds faster than second place.
 
Elisa Becker and Hunsicker also took a one-two finish in the 200-yard butterfly. Becker stopped the clock in 2:25.27 and Hunsicker (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) in 2:29.11.
 
Flick took first in the 200-yard breaststroke as the Lady Warriors took all three of the top spots. Flick (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) finished in 2:36.61, while Emilie Norton (Winthrop, N.Y./St. Laurence Central) touched in 2:45.06. Kate Williamson (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) rounded out the Lycoming swimmers in 2:57.73.
 
Meg Emery (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock Secondary) collected a second place finish in the 1,000 yard freestyle in a time of 11:57.12.
 
The Lady Warriors are away for their next meet as they head to Dallas, Pa. to face tough conference opponent Misericordia University on Wednesday, Nov. 18. The meet is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
