Hall nets pair for Lycoming at Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, Pa.  First-year attacker Samuel Hall (Hanover, Pa. / Delone Catholic) scored twice for the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team in a 15-4 setback to Susquehanna University in a Landmark Conference matchup on Saturday, March 28, at Sassafras Field.

Lycoming (2-7, 0-3 Landmark) fought through a low-scoring first period, allowing the first two goals of the contest before sophomore Cesar Carmona-Felipe (Oakland, Calif. / Oakland Tech) scored the final tally of the period to finish the first 15 minutes trailing 2-1. Hall scored his first tally, an unassisted goal with 2:35 remaining in the first half, to close the Warriors within two, though Susquehanna (5-6, 2-1 Landmark) answered with a late goal to take a 5-2 lead into halftime.

The River Hawks scored the first eight goals of the second half. Hall broke the string with a man-up goal with 3:24 to go, stuffing a pass from junior Brogan Wooley (Hampton, N.J. / Morris Catholic) into the net for his second tally. Wooley found sophomore James Hall-Melynchuck (Magnolia, N.J. / Sterling) just 13 seconds later for the Warriors' final tally.

Hall had two goals, Wooley notched two assists, and Carmona-Felipe and Hall-Melynchuck each tallied a goal. Junior keeper Evan Donnelly (Hanover, Md. / Archbishop Spaulding) stopped 11 shots in goal for the Warriors.

Matt Chubenko scored four times for Susquehanna, who also received a goal and six assists from Pat McDermott.

The Warriors will be back in action on Friday, April 3 when they host Elizabethtown College for a Landmark Conference matchup. First draw is scheduled for noon from UPMC Field.
