2026 Lycoming College Baseball Season Preview

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — After a breakthrough 2025 campaign, the Lycoming College baseball team seeks to climb higher up the Landmark Conference standings in 2026 and solidify last year's results as a foundation, not the peak.

Coming off a season in which the team won a school-record 21 games, reached its first Landmark Conference tournament, placed a record seven on the all-conference squad, and boasted the program's first two All-Region selections, fourth-year head coach Rick Oliveri is fielding the largest roster (45 players) in program history. That roster is made up of a core of 29 returners that will be bolstered by 16 newcomers, including a trio of incoming transfers.

Though Lycoming will miss all-region outfielder Danny DeLucas '25 due to graduation, the Warriors welcome back seven position players who started 20 or more games and each of their top six pitchers by innings pitched from 2025. With the program starting the season by receiving votes in the D3baseball.com poll for the first time, the Warriors are ready for the start of the 40-game campaign on Friday, Feb. 13, at Guilford.

From where we've come from day one to where we are now, I am proud of the work that this senior class has done. Four years ago, we all played our first Division III baseball game, so to see the strides that we have made has been really rewarding. That said, we have a lot left to accomplish and the team knows it and are hungry to get going.

With nine of the team's pitchers that saw more than 10.0 innings on the hill in 2025 returning, including all six to work at least 25.0 frames, the Warriors bring back plenty of experience on the bump.

A trio of seniors lead the rotation, with Second Team All-Landmark and all-region selection AJ Llorente leading the way after going 4-2 with a 4.11 ERA, while leading the Warriors in starts (11), innings pitched (57.0), and strikeouts (41). The southpaw is joined by right-handers Jake Wilber (5-4, 6.61), who led the team in wins and Mason Drozel (1-3, 4.25), who combined to make 14 starts a season ago. Junior Alex Halbert also is in the conversation for a weekend starting role after posting a 3.38 ERA and 23 strikeouts over 29.1 innings before his season ended early.

Senior Joel Inman, a First Team All-Landmark pick last season, returns out of the bullpen after working a team-high 22 games and going 4-2 with a 2.70 ERA in 30.0 innings, striking out 26 batters along the way. Junior closer Grayson Rinker also returns after earning second-team all-conference honors and posting a 4.74 ERA and eight saves over 17 outings.

Seniors Landon Evans (2-3, 8.68), Treyson Green (0-0, 3.97 ERA), and Rick Trapanese (1-1, 8.74) all return after working at least 10.0 innings in 2025, while seniors Stargell Fuhr, Matt Guido, and Sammy Pollett and sophomore Lex Nelsen all return after seeing action on the mound a season ago.

First-years Mikey Biondolillo, Bryce Bungard, and Tylar Hanley, plus sophomore Garrett Leitzel give the Warriors more arms to work with this spring, in addition all-state selection Brayden Maksimik, plus another two-way prep star in Liam McNeill.

The Warriors will be loaded with experience behind the plate, with returning seniors Nick Hoheb and Ethan Snyder being joined by transfer senior Gabriel Cantona.

Hoheb was the primary starter, slashing .240/.320/.300 with six doubles, a triple, and 18 RBI in 35 games a season ago while cutting down 14 runners stealing . Sophomore Tyler Wetzel was the main backup, starting 11 games and contributing a home run and four RBI. Snyder appeared in five games, scoring a run.

Playing junior college ball in Minnesota last year, Cantona hit .325 with five home runs. Anthony Guzman, a junior college transfer from California, will join the squad this year after he hit .290 with 24 RBI in 37 games a season ago.

A plethora of options are available on the infield, though a trio of key returners will be back in place. Two-way star A.J. Llorente slots in at first base when not on the mound, after the all-region selection slashed .338/.430/.448 with seven doubles, three homers, 22 RBI and 27 runs scored a season ago while also handling 201 errorless chances in the field. Across the diamond, slugging third baseman Brody Lindsey is back after slashing .325/.401/.586 while setting program records with 11 homers and 42 RBI to earn second-team all-conference honors. Finally, shortstop Sean Perkins also brings a big bat to the lineup after posting a .316/.410/.529 line with a team-high 10 doubles, plus two triples, five homers, and 24 RBI.

Sophomore Kaden Shay hit .311 with nine RBI in 23 games at second base, while sophomore Zach Kudlacik went 2-for-5 with a double and RBI in limited time a season ago. Senior Jack Kelly brings experience from starting much of the 2024 season at shortstop. Finally, junior Tyler Iams drove in three runs in 12 games and seniors Kai Foster and Rick Trapanese also saw action in 2025.

First-years Tadd Lusk, Liam McNeill, Miles Pealer, Jack Ryan, Nolan Secor, Nathaniel Wilk, and Zach Woskobunik will also jockey for playing time, alongside 6-7 junior transfer Rhys Evans, who comes in after two years of junior college experience in Maryland.

The Warriors return a pair of starters in a crowded outfield, highlighted by senior leadoff man Nick Reeder. A career .308 hitters in his three seasons, Reeder is coming off a season where he slashed .248/.393/.385 with nine double, three triples, a pair of home runs, 12 RBI, and a team-leading 13 steals to go along with 33 runs scored. Fellow senior Josh Bottger emerged in the second half of last season, batting .256 with a home run and 11 RBI in 29 games.

Junior Eric MacCluen is another proven bat who will see time in the outfield when not at designated hitter, where he was a Second Team All-Landmark selection a season ago. MacCluen slashed .347/.398/.449 with six doubles, three homers, and 21 RBI, tying for second on the squad with 51 hits. Seniors Julien Stellar and Greg Wirin both have seen time for the Warriors.

The outfield will also feature a trio of first-years: Tadd Lusk, Grant Vilello, and Nick Reeder's younger brother, Michael Reeder, coming off a .455 senior season at Montoursville. Junior college transfer Anthony Guzman is an option as well when he is not behind the plate.
