WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—After breaking the school record for wins and reaching the Landmark Conference Championship for the first time in 2025, the Lycoming College baseball team was picked fifth in the Landmark's Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference office announced on Thursday, Feb. 5.
Wilkes earned 62 points and six first-place votes to take the top spot in the poll, while defending champion Catholic was second with 54 points and a pair of first-place votes. Elizabethtown was close behind with 51 points and the remaining first-place vote. Last year's tournament runner-up Scranton was fourth with 45 points, while Lycoming earned 37 points, and Susquehanna notched 30 points. Drew (21 points), Moravian (14 points), and Juniata (10 points) rounded out the poll.
After being picked last in the conference poll a season ago, the Warriors finished the regular season at 21-19 and in fifth place at 12-12 in the Landmark.
Six Warriors landed on the All-Landmark Conference team a season ago, with five of them set to return: senior pitcher Joel Inman (Berlin, N.J./Eastern Regional), senior utility player A.J. Llorente (Williamsport, Pa./Montoursville Area), senior third baseman Brody Lindsey (Monrovia, Md./DeMatha Catholic), junior pitcher Grayson Rinker (Jersey Shore, Pa./Montoursville Area), and junior designated hitter Eric MacCluen (Downingtown, Pa. / Bishop Shanahan). In all, seven starting position players return along with five starting pitchers and three relievers that threw at least 10.0 innings.
Llorente also joined Danny DeLucas as the first players in program history to earn All-Region honors, with Llorente being honored on D3baseball.com's second team in Region 5.
Prior to the start of this season, the Warriors also received votes in the D3baseball.com preseason poll for the first time in program history, picking up a total of five points in the poll. Lycoming joined Elizabethtown (tied for 37th with nine votes) as the only Landmark Conference schools to earn votes in the poll.
Lycoming begins its season on Friday, Feb. 13, when they open a three-game series against Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C.
