WILKES-BARRE, Pa.—Senior Allison Fisher (Pinehurst, N.C. / Burrell) scored 10 points to lead the Lycoming College women's basketball team in its first contest of 2026, opening the new year with a 73-48 non-conference setback at King's College on Saturday, Jan. 3 at McGrane Gym.

King's (7-4) led for the final three quarters as Lycoming (5-6) cooled off after a strong start in the final non-conference game of the season.

The Warriors started off fast, scoring the first five points of the game and leading 12-7 over five minutes in after an Ann-Marie McMurtrie (Centre Hall, Pa. / Penns Valley) jumper at the 4:53 mark of the opening quarter. The Monarchs, though, outscored Lycoming, 14-4, to end the first quarter, leading 21-16 after the first ten minutes. King's outscored the Warriors, 19-8m in the second quarter to take a 40-24 lead into halftime, and extended the lead throughout the final two periods.

Fisher scored her 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting, including going 2-for-4 from 3-point range and tallying a team-high four assists as she reached double figures in points for the seventh time this season. Sophomore Jocelyn McCracken (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore Area) added nine points and four rebounds, while senior Victoria Burton (Marietta, Pa. / Donegal) scored a season-high eight points and tied for the team lead with five rebounds.

Cadie Lewis led the way for King's, posting 25 points on 9-for-17 shooting, including five three-pointers, as well as seven rebounds and five assists. Ireyland Long drilled four threes of her own in a 14-point effort and Lauren Casey posted an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double for the Monarchs.
