WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Senior Victoria Burton (Marietta, Pa. / Donegal) scored a season-high 11 points as the Lycoming College women's basketball team fell, 90-40, in a Landmark Conference matchup against Susquehanna University on Wednesday evening, Jan. 7 at Lamade Gym.
Burton was the bright spot offensively for the Warriors, breaking double digits for the first time this season by scoring 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while also pulling down a team-high four rebounds. Sophomore Jocelyn McCracken (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore Area) added six points and three rebounds, while senior Kami Abdo (Pottsville, Pa. / Nativity BVM) chipped in five points and three boards. Senior Allison Fisher (Pinehurst, N.C. / Burrell) added a career-high three blocks.
Susquehanna (11-1, 4-1), which is receiving votes in the D3hoops.com poll, led throughout against Lycoming (5-7, 1-4), as the River Hawks scored 28 points in the first quarter and led 45-24 at halftime.
Carly George posted 14 points, six rebounds and three assists and Annie Greek and Julia Roth each had 12 points for the River Hawks.
The Warriors will return to action on Sunday, Jan. 11, as Lycoming will take on Moravian in a Landmark Conference tilt that will be held in the historic Palestra in Philadelphia, Pa. Tipoff from the Palestra is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
