McCracken ties career best against Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—Sophomore Jocelyn McCracken (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore Area) tied her career high with 15 points as the Lycoming College women's basketball team fell, 72-48, in a Landmark Conference matchup against Elizabethtown College on Saturday, Jan. 17 at Thompson Gymnasium.

McCracken scored her 15 points on 7-of-15 shooting, while also leading the squad with seven rebounds and three steals. Junior Ann-Marie McMurtrie (Centre Hall, Pa. / Penns Valley) chipped in eight points and four rebounds, including a 3-point make, while senior Allison Fisher (Pinehurst, N.C. / Burrell) also scored eight points.

Against an Elizabethtown (11-4, 7-1) squad receiving votes in the Division III polls, Lycoming (5-10, 1-7) played well defensively early on, but fell behind 27-12 at the break. The Warriors regrouped to score 36 points in the second half, shooting 14-for-27 (51.9%)  from the field after halftime, but the Blue Jays maintained a double-digit advantage the entire second half.

Elizabethtown was led by Kiley Wilhelm with a game-high 16 points and eight rebounds. Makenna Mummert scored 10 points and Ellie Fasick chipped in eight points and eight boards.

The Warriors will be back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 21, when the Warriors hit the road once more to take on Juniata in a Landmark Conference road tilt. Tipoff from the Kennedy Sports and Recreation Center in Huntingdon, Pa., is scheduled for 7 p.m.
