WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — After three scoreless periods, the Lycoming College field hockey team broke through in the fourth quarter to post a 2-0 victory over Cedar Crest College on Saturday, Sept. 20, at UPMC Field.
Lycoming (4-2) won their second in a row by posting their first shutout victory since a 1-0 win over Sept. 14, 2024 vs. Roberts Wesleyan.
Neither team scored for more than 50 minutes as the Warriors dominated the first three quarters with 20 shots and 15 penalty corners, but didn't break through until junior
Carmen Hannon (Aldie, Va./John Champe) found the back of the net after 51:16 of play on an assist by junior
Loghan Shelley (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) for her first goal of the season. It was Hannon's fourth career goal and first since 2023.
In the final minute of the match, first-year
Laurel Fite (Shermans Dale, Pa./West Perry) buried her second goal of the campaign with an assist by sophomore
Lacy Eckard (Muncy, Pa./Muncy).
Senior goalkeeper
Isabella Bobé (York Springs, Pa./Bermudian Springs) kept everything in front of her, moving to 4-1 in goal this season and posting the sixth shutout of her career.
The Warriors will be back at home on Wednesday, Sept. 24, to face Lancaster Bible College at 7 p.m., at UPMC Field.
