WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Four Lycoming College baseball players had at least two hits and junior 
Brody Lindsey (Monrovia, Md./DeMatha Catholic) hit his 11
th homer of the year, but a three-run seventh inning helped the Catholic University of America prevail in a 9-7 Landmark Conference slugfest at Brandon Park Baseball Field on Sunday, April 27.
 
Catholic (20-16 overall, 11-10 Landmark) moved into fourth place in the Landmark Conference standings with the win, while Lycoming (20-19 overall, 11-12 Landmark) moved into fifth. Susquehanna (17-19 overall, 10-11 Landmark) is a game behind the Warriors, but, while Lycoming only has one more Landmark Conference game to complete, the River Hawks have a three-game set next weekend with Moravian.
 
Sophomore 
Sean Perkins (Berlin, N.J./Eastern Regional) was 2-for-5 with a run, senior 
Danny DeLucas (Whittier, Calif./La Serna) was 3-for-3 with a run and two hit batters, junior 
A.J. Llorente (Williamsport, Pa./Montoursville Area) was 2-for-3 with a run and senior 
Evan Mok (Daly City, Calif./St. Ignatius) was 2-for-5 with a RBI. All nine Warriors reached base in the game.
 
The Warriors got on the board in the second inning, as sophomore 
Eric MacCluen (Downingtown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) doubled to leadoff, took third on a sac bunt and scored on a groundout.
 
In the third, junior 
Nick Reeder (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) reached on an error before DeLucas singled, bringing up Lindsey, who drilled a three-run homer deep to left field to bring the Warriors within 5-4. Lorente hit a two-out double to right and an error helped him score to tie the game.
 
After Catholic took a one-run lead in the fourth, the Warriors tied the game in the sixth, with Perkins and DeLucas singling, moving up a bag on a groundout with one out and Perkins scoring on a wild pitch.
 
Catholic scored three in the seventh, but the Warriors responded in the bottom of the inning with a run, as junior 
Nick Hoheb (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) started the inning with a ground-rule double before Mok singled him to third and he scored on a sac bunt from first-year 
Kaden Shay (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area). The Warriors loaded the bases in the inning, but a flyout ended the inning.
 
Stephen Thomas was 4-for-5 with a run, Mitchel Johnson was 4-for-5 with two runs, a double and two RBI and Dante Pozzi was 3-for-4 with two runs, a double and two RBI.
 
Danny Prior (1-2) earned the win for Catholic, allowing two runs in 1 1/3 innings and Jack Scholz earned the save with 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. He struck out two. First-year 
Eddie Weindel (Stewartsville, N.J./Philipsburg) (0-1) took the loss, allowing four hits and an earned run in 2 2/3 innings.
 
The Warriors have to complete a halted game at Juniata College, which was tied at three when rain ended the first attempt. The game will be finished before the end of the conference's regular season on Sunday, May 4, at a date to be announced.
