WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior
Brody Lindsey (Monrovia, Md./DeMatha Catholic) hit a pair of home runs, one in each game, while timely hitting and solid pitching helped lift the Lycoming College baseball team to a pair of Landmark Conference wins over Drew University, 13-1 and 9-4, at Brandon Park on Saturday afternoon, March 29.

Alex Halbert (Laurel, Md./Atholton) (1-1) earned his first win of the year, allowing three hits and a run in six innings in the first game, while the offense pounded 12 hits and earned six walks in a 13-1 run-rule shortened win.

A.J. Llorente (Williamsport, Pa./Montoursville Area) was 3-for-3 with three runs and a RBI, Lindsey was 2-for-3 with three runs and a homer, sophomore
Sean Perkins (Berlin, N.J./Eastern Regional) was 2-for-3 with two runs and a three-run homer and junior
Nick Reeder (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

After Drew (10-12 overall, 3-7 Landmark) scored a run in the first, the Warriors (13-9 overall, 5-2 Landmark) answered in the bottom of the inning, as Llorente drove in senior
Danny DeLucas (Whittier, Calif./La Serna) with a two-out single before sophomore
Eric MacCluen (Downingtown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) stole home on a designed first-and-third situation.

In the second, Lycoming added two more runs thanks to a walk, an error, a sac fly from Reeder and a single from DeLucas. In the third, Lindsey singled before stealing second. In the fifth, Lindsey led off with a homer before Llorente and Perkins both singled. Hoheb reached on a fielder's choice that allowed Llorente to score and a sac bunt from senior
Evan Mok (Daly City, Calif./St. Ignatius) allowed another Perkins to score, setting up an RBI single from Reeder.

In the sixth, Lindsey walked with one out before Llorente singled, setting up a three-run homer from Perkins.

Halbert retired eight in a row after the first two batters reached and he allowed just one runner past first in his last five innings of work. Brandon Korbyn tossed 4 2/3 innings, allowing nine hits and seven earned runs. He walked four.

A six-run third inning propelled the Warriors to a 9-4 win in the second game of the doubleheader, as the team broke the program record for wins in a season of 12 set by the 2023 team.

MacCluen was 3-for-4 with a run, Reeder was 2-for-5 with two runs and a double and Perkins was 2-for-5 with two runs and a triple to pace the Warriors.

After Drew scored in the first, the Warriors responded in the bottom of the inning, as Reeder singled, took third on a single from MacCluen and scored on a sac fly from Lindsey. In the third, the Warriors broke the game open, with Reeder reaching on an error, DeLucas walking and MacCluen reaching on an error that allowed Reeder to score and set up a three-run shot from Lindsey. The Rangers scored the next three runs before Perkins led off the fifth with a triple, setting up an RBI double from junior
Zachary Pleska (Salem, Ohio/Columbiana). Reeder drove in Pleska with a double to make it 9-4.

Mason Drozal (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits and three earned runs before he yielded to junior
Joel Inman (Berlin, N.J./Eastern Regional) (2-0), who pitched 3 1/3 innings, allowing a walk and striking out three to earn the win.
