Ben Franco's (Macungie, Pa. / Emmaus) program-record-tying 28 saves brought him to 817 in his career, making him the 36th player in Division III history to reach 800 career saves, as the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team fell, 24-5, against the Catholic University of America in its Landmark Conference opener on Saturday afternoon, March 22, at UPMC Field.
Franco stopped 19 shot attempts in the first half and added nine more saves in the last two quarters, helping him tie the program record of 28 saves in a game set by Michael Tenant against Ithaca in 2019.

Sean Farrell (Allentown, Pa. / Allentown Central Catholic) added goals for the Warriors (4-3 overall, 0-1 Landmark), putting Lycoming on the board. The Cardinals entered halftime with a nine-point advantage, 11-2.

Shayne Wilson (Smyrna, Del. / Smyrna) jumped out in the second minute to score Lycoming's third goal. First-year
Cesar Carmona-Felipe (Oakland, Calif. / Oakland Tech) followed up with 8:41 on the clock for his second goal of the season. After the Cardinals added two goals to begin the fourth-quarter scoring, sophomore
Brogan Wooley (Hampton, N.J. / Morris Catholic) pushed toward the cage to add Lycoming's fifth goal.
Farrell and Wooley led the Warriors' offense with two points each.
Billy Burton and Kevin Woram each contributed three goals for Catholic. Six Cardinals — Mike Mulligan, Alejandro Masferrer, John Hadden, Steven Dezelic, Bjorn Olofson and Cullen Lotz — added two goals. Victor Rosado and Bailey Wallce each contributed three assists. Ryan Macksoud also snagged six ground balls.
Colton Manorek started the game and made two saves in the cage for Catholic (3-6 overall, 1-0 Landmark). Luke McNabb and Nicholas Mort followed with one save each.
The Warriors travel to Elizabethtown, Pa., on Saturday, March 29, to play against Elizabethtown College in Landmark Conference action at 1 p.m.
