Abdo, McMurtrie lead Warriors at Drew

MADISON, N.J.—Senior Kami Abdo (Bethlehem, Pa. / Nativity BVM) scored 14 points for the Lycoming College women's basketball team, which fell, 76-41, in a Landmark Conference matchup on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Drew University.

Abdo poured in 14 points on 5-of-14 shooting, including a 3-for-4 mark from the charity stripe.  Junior Ann-Marie McMurtrie (Centre Hall, Pa./Penns Valley) added 11 points and six rebounds, matching her career high in points. Seniors Allison Fisher (Pinehurst, N.C. / Burrell) and Victoria Burton (Marietta, Pa. / Donegal) each pulled down six rebounds as well, while Fisher led the squad with three assists and two blocks.

Drew (6-3, 2-2) scored the first 15 points of the game as Lycoming (3-6, 1-3) fell behind 24-5 after the opening ten minutes. The Warriors scored 15 points in the second quarter, but the Rangers  took a 44-20 lead into halftime, as it posted a 35-point win.

Jocelyn Kingsley led the Rangers with 14 points, Olivia Aliotta grabbed nine rebounds and three steals and Amy Rachilla posted four assists.

The Warriors will break for finals before returning to action on Wednesday, Dec. 17, for a non-conference matchup against Misericordia. Tip-off from Lamade Gym is scheduled for 7 p.m.
