Lacy Eckard (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) scored twice to lead the Lycoming College field hockey team, which fell victim to a late rally by Houghton College, 4-3, in overtime on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at UPMC Field.

As the third quarter wound to a close, Eckard tied the game at one by shooting in Lycoming's first goal off a rebounded shot. Two minutes after Eckard posted the Warriors' first goal, Burton scored Lycoming's second goal with a one-timer into the left corner of the net off a penalty corner pass from sophomore
Loghan Shelly (Manheim, Pa. / Manheim Central), pushing the Warriors (1-2 overall) ahead of their competitors.

Maintaining the momentum, Eckard dropped in Lycoming's last goal of the game two minutes into the fourth off a rebound in another penalty corner.

Houghton's Campbell Bowers scored on a penalty stroke goal that brought the Highlanders (3-0 overall) within a goal and with two minutes left in the fourth quarter, Houghton's Bekah Davie scored off the right side of the net. The Highlanders' Adelle Hunter secured the game-winner in overtime off a rebound, after the Warriors had attempted two shots in the first six minutes of the period.

Junior
Isabella Bobé (York Springs, Pa. / Bermudian Springs) stopped nine shots as Houghton attempted 16 during the game. Houghton's goalkeeper, Amber Cribbs, matched Bobé with nine saves.

The Warriors recorded 14 shots. Senior
Halie Woodring (Hummelstown, Pa. / Lower Dauphin) attempted four, while Eckard and junior
Victoria Burton (Marietta, Pa. / Donegal) both notched three. Lycoming also notched ten penalty corners compared to Houghton's eight.

The Warriors head back on the road on Saturday, Sept. 7, for a game against Keuka at 1 p.m.
