Warriors blank DII Roberts Wesleyan on the road

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - First-year Maggie Campbell (Bloomsburg, Pa. / Central Columbia) launched the game-winning goal for the Lycoming College field hockey team during the third quarter, as Lycoming defeated a Division II opponent for the first time since 1990, beating Roberts Wesleyan, 1-0, on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Roberts Turf Field.

Following a shot attempt by senior Halie Woodring (Hummelstown, Pa. / Lower Dauphin), Campbell pushed the ball into the net in the 36th minute.

The Warriors (3-2 overall) launched nine shots at Roberts Wesleyan, and they were met with 12 shots by their opponents.

First-year Lacy Eckard (Muncy, Pa. / Muncy), sophomore Ava Daly (Camp Hill, Pa. / Bishop McDevitt), and junior Riley Marines (East Berlin, Pa. / Bermudian Springs) all had two shot attempts.

In the net, junior Isabella Bobé (York Springs, Pa./Bermudian Springs) notched seven saves for her second straight shutout. Roberts Wesleyan's Avery Richardson accumulated six saves.

The Warriors hit the road for Lancaster, Pa., on Tuesday, Sept. 17, for a 7 p.m. game against Lancaster Bible College.
