SCRANTON, Pa. – Junior Joey Hoover (Selinsgrove, Pa./ Selinsgrove Area) led the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team with two goals, an assist and four groundballs, as it fell to the University of Scranton 24-6, on Wednesday, April 3, at Weiss Field.
Hoover put up two goals in the fourth period of the game and assisted senior Patrick Dwyer (Somerville, N.J./ Immaculata) in the third period.
The Warriors (2-5 overall, 0-2 Landmark) put up their first three goals in the third period and added on three more in the fourth. Dwyer had a goal, senior Zach Anderson (Fogelsville, Pa./ Northwestern Lehigh) had one and junior Sean Farrell (Allentown, Pa./ Allentown Central Catholic) added on two. Junior Elijah Roselle (North Plainfield, N.J./North Plainfield) caused four turnovers.
Scranton (5-6 overall, 2-0 Landmark) put up 18 goals in the first half of the game and six more in the second half. Myles McCutcheon led the Royals with five goals. Seamus O'Callaghan, Kyle Holmes and Alex Eglitis each had three goals.
Junior Ben Franco (Macungie, Pa./ Emmaus) and junior Michael Lavinio (Upper Saddle River, N.J./ Saint Joseph Regional) stopped 16 shots in goal.
The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday, April 6, as they visit Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference play at 1 p.m.
