Three Warriors post two hits against Wilkes

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Three Lycoming College baseball players had two hits to lead the team as it fell to Wilkes University, 13-7, in Landmark Conference action at Brandon Park on Wednesday afternoon, April 24.
 
Junior Evan Mok (Daly City, Calif./St. Ignatius) was 2-for-4 with a run and RBI, sophomore Nick Hoheb (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) was 2-for-4 with a run and sophomore Josh Bottger (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Wilkes-Barre Area) was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
 
After Wilkes scored 10 runs in the first three innings, the Warriors answered with six in the third and fourth innings. Two walks and a hit batter loaded the bases in the third for first-year Eric MacCluen (Downingtown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan), who delivered a double to the fence to score all three runners. In the fourth, Mok, Hoheb and Bottger led the inning off with singles before sophomore Jack Kelly (Alexandria, Va./Alexandria City) singled in two runs. A groundout scored the third.
 
Wilkes scored three more in the sixth before the Warriors got a run in the seventh off an RBI single from Mok with two outs.
 
Both Mike Show and Zach Luksic had three-run homers for the Colonels. Show finished 4-for-6 with two runs and three RBI and Luksic was 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBI.
 
Ryan Sanderson (4-1) earned the win with six innings of relief, allowing six hits and one earned run. He struck out two. Junior Jake Schilling (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) (0-1) allowed six hit and nine runs in 2 1/3 innings.
 
The Warriors head to Catholic for a three-game Landmark Conference series starting with a  doubleheader on Saturday, April 27 at 12 p.m.
