Five Warriors earn NWCA Scholar All-American honors

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – For the seventh time in program history and the second year in a row, the Lycoming College wrestling team has earned National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III All-Academic Top 30 Team honors and five Warriors earned NWCA Scholar All-American honors, the organization announced.

To be eligible for the NWCA Scholar All-American award, a student-athlete must carry a cumulative GPA better than 3.20 or have earned a 3.20 GPA in the past two semesters and meet one of three criteria: qualify for the NCAA Championships, place in the NCAA Regional or win more than 66 percent of his matches.

Junior Logan Bartlett (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area), junior Cooper Gilham (Bellefonte, Pa./Bald Eagle Area), junior Robbie West (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry), sophomore Eli Crum (Carlisle, Pa./ Boiling Springs) and sophomore Kobin Karper (Boiling Springs, Pa./ Boiling Springs) earned the honors, as Karper, Gilham and Bartlett all repeated on the list.

Bartlett, a biochemistry major, posted a 21-18 record at 157/165 pounds. He recorded six falls, four major decisions and 10 decisions and placed seventh at the NCAA Southeast Regional.

Gilham, a mathematics major, finished with a 22-11record and an 8-5 dual meet record at 141 pounds. He posted five falls, eight tech falls, four major decisions and five decisions.

Crum, an economics major, wrestled at 174 pounds going 28-8 overall and 10-3 in dual meets. He recorded seven falls, a school-record 14 tech falls, two decisions and three major decisions. Crum also made an appearance at the NCAA Southeast Regional taking fifth place.

Karper, a psychology major, wrapped up his sophomore season with a 15-4 record at 149 pounds. He recorded two falls, seven tech falls, three major decisions and three decisions. Karper also finished fourth at the NCAA Southeast Regional.

West, an actuarial science major, finished the season with a 21-8 overall record and a 10-2 dual meet record at 285 pounds. He posted 14 falls, one tech fall and major decision, and four decisions.

The Warriors finished the 2023-24 season with an 11-2 record, placing sixth at the NCAA Southeast Regional under 31st-year head coach Roger Crebs.
