Scozzafava leads Warriors with four goals at Keuka

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – Junior Troy Scozzafava (Coopersburg, Pa./ Southern Lehigh) led the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team with four goals against Keuka College, as it fell, 12-9, in non-conference action on Wednesday, March. 6, at Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

Scozzafava opened the game with the first goal and opened the fourth period with a goal to give himself a hat trick. Just moments later, Scozzafava scored again to bring the Warriors within a goal with nine minutes left.

Senior Rory Hines (Cortland, N.Y./ Cortland) also put up two goals for the Warriors, both being unassisted. Junior Sean Farrell (Allentown, Pa./ Allentown Central Catholic) and senior Patrick Dwyer (Somerville, N.J./ Immaculata) each had two assists to lead the team and Dwyer also added on a goal. Senior Andrew Ednie (Farmingville, N.Y./ Sachem East) a goal and assist.

Senior Jakob Switzer (West Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Area) notched six groundballs and caused six turnovers to pace the defense and junior Ryan Farrell (Swedesboro, N.J./Archmere Academy) added three caused turnovers and four groundballs. Junior Elijah Roselle (North Plainfield, N.J./North Plainfield) and junior Colin Manankil (White Hall, Md./Hereford) each had four groundballs.

Junior Ben Franco (Macungie, Pa./ Emmaus) faced 38 shots and made 10 saves.

The Warriors (1-2 overall) fired 39 shots, one more than the Wolves (2-0 overall), forcing Keuka's goalkeeper to make seven saves.

Keuka was able to take a three-goal lead early in the third quarter before Lycoming closed within a goal off Scozzafava's third goal with 6:19 left in the period.

After Lycoming closed within a goal in the fourth quarter twice, they had two opportunities to tie, but Keuka scored twice late to close out the game.

Devon Gerhardt, Harrison Root and Dylan Delucia each had two goals for the Wolves. Nicholas Pipher added three assists and Logan McMurtry posted seven groundballs and four caused turnovers.

The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday, March 16, as they travel to La Plume, Pa., to face Keystone College in a non-conference game at 1 p.m.
