WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior Joey Hoover (Selinsgrove, Pa./ Selinsgrove Area) led the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team with a pair of goals against Elizabethtown College, as the team fell, 18-2, in Landmark Conference play on Friday, March 29 at UPMC Field.
Hoover notched both goals for the Warriors (2-4 overall, 0-2 Landmark) and had four shots on goal. Senior Jakob Switzer (West Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Area) led the team with two caused turnovers and he also added three groundballs. Junior Ryan Farrell (Swedesboro, N.J./Archmere Academy) won four faceoffs and junior Sean Farrell (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) added an assist.
Elizabethtown (4-5 overall, 2-0 Landmark) scored 10 goals in the first half of the game to take control. Colin Kondracki and Ryan Flanegan led the Blue Jays with three goals each as 10 players scored in the game. Riley Langen led with four assists. T.J. Chapman notched six groundballs.
Junior Ben Franco (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) notched 18 saves, as he crossed 100 saves on the season for the third year in a row and surpassed 550 in his career, finishing the game with 556. The Warriors totaled 20 shots forcing the two Blue Jay keepers, Brayden Franey and Christian Schrader, to make seven saves.
The Warriors will be back in action Wednesday, April 3, as they visit the University of Scranton at 4 p.m., in Landmark Conference play.
