Hoheb leads Warriors at Juniata

HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Sophomore Nick Hoheb (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) led a group of four Lycoming College baseball players with multiple hits, going 4-for-5 with a double, run and RBI, as Lycoming fell to Juniata College, 10-4, in a Landmark Conference game at Langdon-Goodale Field on Tuesday afternoon, March 19.

Senior Joey Trout (North East, Md./St. Elizabeth) was one of three Warriors (4-11 overall, 1-3 Landmark) with two hits, hitting the team's third home run of the season and adding a double and scoring twice. First-year Eric MacCluen (Downingtown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) finished 2-for-5 and sophomore Zach Kudlacik (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville Area) was 2-for-4 with a double, a run and a RBI.

Trout got the Warriors out front in the second inning, as he homered to left field, but Juniata (6-6 overall, 1-3 Landmark) took the lead with a five-run third inning, as Michael Warren had a two-RBI trouble and Joey Woodrow hit a two-run homer. Warren added a three-run homer in the fifth.

Lycoming scored twice in the sixth, as Hoheb got things started with a one-out double before Kudlacik drove him in with a two-out double. After a wild pitch and a walk, sophomore Jack Kelly (Alexandria, Va./Alexandria City) drove in Kudlacik with a single. In the seventh, Trout doubled with two outs before Hoheb singled into center to drive him in and make it 8-4. Juniata used single runs in the seventh and eighth to make up the final margin, however.

Warren went 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple, five RBI, and two runs scored and Woodrow was 1-for-3 with a homer, two RBI, a walk, and a run scored for the Eagles.

Connor Rohm (1-0) pitched six innings to earn the win for the Eagles, allowing seven hits and three runs. He walked two and struck out two. Sophomore Nick Reeder (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) (0-2) pitched three innings, allowing four hits, a walk and five runs. He struck out four.

The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, March 20, when they head to Penn College for a 4 p.m. game at Journey Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field.
