SCRANTON, Pa. – Four Lycoming College baseball players had two hits – junior
Evan Mok (Daly City, Calif./St. Ignatius), sophomore
Nick Hoheb (Brick, N.J./Brick Township), junior
Jake Schilling (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) and sophomore
Josh Bottger (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Wilkes-Barre Area) – in the team's series finale on Sunday, March 17, but Susquehanna University was able to post a 12-7 Landmark Conference win at Volpe Field.
Mok had a double, a run and two RBI, Schilling and Bottger each had a RBI and sophomore
Nick Reeder (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) scored twice for the Warriors (4-10 overall, 1-2 Landmark).
The Warriors took an early lead in the first, as Reeder singled with one out before sophomore
Zachary Pleska (Salem, Ohio/Columbiana) delivered a double to center field. Mok drove Reeder in with a single into right center.
Susquehanna (6-9 overall, 2-1 Landmark) took the lead with four runs in the third. The Warriors got a run back in the fourth, as first-year
Ryan Tan (Colts Neck, N.J./Colts Neck) singled with one out before Hoheb doubled down the line. After Schilling walked to load the bases, Bottger delivered a sac fly.
Susquehanna scored the next eight runs before Lycoming rallied with four in the ninth inning. Sophomore
Jack Kelly (Alexandria, Va./Alexandria City), Reeder and Pleska walked to load the bases before Mok walked in a run. An error allowed Reeder and Pleska to score and a double play brought in Mok.
Aidan Martin (1-2) earned the win for the River Hawks, as he went seven innings, allowing 10 hits and two runs. Sophomore
Jake Wilber (Toms River, N.J./Toms River South) pitched four innings, allowing six hits, three walks and no earned runs. He struck out three.
Jack Cahill went 3-for-5 with three runs, a homer and three RBI and Joe Healy was 3-for-5 with three runs for Susquehanna.
The Warriors are back on the field on Tuesday, March 19, when they head to Juniata College for a 3 p.m. Landmark Conference game.
