SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Junior Meghan Dufner (Washington, N.J./ Warren Hills Regional) led the Lycoming College women's basketball team with 18 points as it fell, 79-50, at Susquehanna University at O.W. Houts Gymnasium on Wednesday, Feb 7, in Landmark Conference play.
Dufner also led the Warriors with three assists, adding five rebounds and two steals. Junior Mya Wetzel (Frackville, Pa./ North Schuylkill) had nine points heading into halftime going 3-for-6 in three-pointers, finishing with 12 points and two steals.
Senior Emily Lockard (Benton, Pa./ Benton Area) led the Warriors (11-11, 5-10 Landmark) with six rebounds, also posting six points and junior Ashley Yoh (Myerstown, Pa./ Eastern Lebanon County) and Alicia Goldenziel (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) each added six points as well.
The River Hawks (15-7 overall, 10-5 Landmark) shot 51 percent from the field (32-of-63) and were able to break open the game with an 11-2 run in the second quarter to go up 10 at halftime before scoring 30 points in the fourth quarter to outpace the Warriors.
Three River Hawks finished in double figures - Julia Roth (13), Kenzie Selvaggi (10), and Kaitlyn Lynch (16). Roth also had nine rebounds, six assists and five steals and Julia Pinckert added nine assists.
The Warriors will be back on the court visiting Moravian University in Bethlehem, Pa., on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 4 p.m. in Landmark Conference play.
