BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Up by two points with 4:43 left, the Lycoming College women's basketball team overwhelmed Moravian University with a run of 15 straight points that lasted into the final minute of the game, helping Lycoming to a key 63-54 win over Moravian University in Landmark Conference action on Saturday, Feb 10 at Johnston Hall.

A solitary free throw from junior Mya Wetzel (Frackville, Pa./ North Schuylkill) started the run before she weaved a beautiful 20-foot bounce pass into the lane for sophomore Kami Abdo (Pottsville, Pa./Nativity BVM) for a transition layup as she was fouled with 2:42 left to make it 54-48. Junior Ashley Yoh (Myerstown, Pa./ Eastern Lebanon County) hit a tough layup in the paint near the two-minute mark and Lycoming (12-11 overall, 6-10 Landmark) went 7-of-8 at the free throw line in the next 90 seconds to put the game out of reach at 63-48, although Moravian (7-16 overall, 6-10 Landmark) did hit a pair of late 3-pointers.
The win moved the Warriors into a tie with Moravian for the sixth and final Landmark Conference Championship slot with two games left in the regular season.
Senior Emily Lockard (Benton, Pa./ Benton Area) and Yoh each recorded double-doubles, as Lycoming held a 40-34 advantage on the glass, with Lockard notching 12 points and 11 rebounds and Yoh adding 13 points and 11 boards. Wetzel led the team with 15 points, banking three 3-pointers in crucial moments in the second half of the game, moving into fourth in program history with 126 career trifectas, tying Jennifer Shuler (1995-99) in the carregory. Junior Meghan Dufner (Washington, N.J./ Warren Hills Regional) added 12 points and two assists and three rebounds. Abdo also added nine points.
Moravian scored the first seven points of the game before an Abdo 3-pointer midway through the first quarter ensured that the Warriors would stay within a pair of possessions for the rest of the period before taking a 16-11 lead early in the second quarter when Dufner scored in transition. The Greyhounds took the lead back and led 22-20 at the break, before scoring the first six points after halftime to take a 28-20 lead. The Warriors  used a run of eight points to tie the game before Abdo banked in a 3-pointer with 1:11 left, helping the team head into the fourth tied at 39. After two lead changes and two ties to start the fourth a second-chance bucket by Yoh gave Lycoming a 45-43 lead and a 3-pointer by Wetzel moments later made it 50-45 before Moravian answered and set up Lycoming's 15-point run.
Three Moravian players finished in double digits - Grace Steffen Posted 15 points and nine rebounds, Sam Osorio had 11 points, nine rebounds and five blocks and Brielle Guarente scored 10 points.
The Warriors will host eighth-ranked Scranton University Wednesday, Feb. 14 at Lamade Gym at 7 p.m. in Landmark Conference play.
