WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Eliot Keith (New Ringgold, Pa./Blue Mountain) won three individual events to pace the Lycoming College men's swimming team to its fourth win of the year, 39-21, and senior Cathryn Brought (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) added two individual wins and a relay win to lift the Lycoming College women's swimming team to an 82-55 win over Moravian University, in the final dual meet of the year on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 3, at the Liberty High School swimming pool.
Keith won the 50-yard freestyle with a season-best 22.84 and also took first in the 100-yard freestyle (51.1) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:24.47) to post 27 of the men's team's 39 points in the win, helping Lycoming finish 4-7 overall. Moravian fell to 0-7.
On the women's side, first-year Gwyneth Fox (Altoona, Pa./ Altoona Area) won the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:53.44 time and was also a part of the winning 400-yard medley relay team with sophomore Megan Lonergan (York, Pa/York Suburban), Brought and first-year Ana Holbrook (Parker, Colo./Colorado Early Colleges-Douglas County), finishing with a 5:05.67 time.
Brought won the 200-yard freestyle (2:05.63) and 100-yard freestyle (57.05) and senior Courtney Chapman (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) also won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a 13:16.03 time.
The women improved to 6-6 overall, the team's second straight .500 or better record. Moravian fell to 2-6.
The Warriors will now take two weeks to taper before the Landmark Conference Championships begin on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m.
