SCRANTON, Pa. – Senior Steven Hamilton (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) swished a turnaround jumper from 15 feet with two seconds left to cap off a night in which he became the 34^th player in the history of the Lycoming College men's basketball program to reach 1,000 career points to help Lycoming post a 57-55 Landmark Conference win at the University of Scranton's John Long Center on Wednesday night, Feb. 14.
 
First-year Hayden Pardoe (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) came up with a steal with 13 seconds left to set up the winning play. After a foul with 4.6 seconds left, senior Mavin James (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) found Hamilton to the left of the key, and Hamilton turned and fired in one motion, swishing through his 16^th point of the night and 1,010^th of his career, as he became the first Warrior to reach 1,000 points since Dyson Harward '23 reached the mark last year during the first half.

Hamilton and Pardoe each finished with 16 points to lead the Warriors (9-15 overall, 5-12 Landmark), with Hamilton adding four assists and two blocks and Pardoe posting six rebounds and three steals. James added a double-double with 11 points, 11 rebounds to go with a career-high six assists and sophomore J.J. Beagle (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) added eight points and 10 rebounds.
 
The Warriors, after shooting 21 percent in the first half, shot 47 percent (15-of-32) in the second half and were able to keep pace with the Royals (4-20 overall, 2-15 Landmark), who shot 65 percent in the half (15-of-23), but only grabbed eight rebounds to the Warriors' 15.
 
The game had four lead changes and eight ties, with four of those ties coming and a lead change coming in the final five minutes. Hamilton and senior Brendon Blackson (Laurel, Md./Laurel) tied the game at 49 with 5:04 left with a pair of back-to-back 3-pointers before Pardoe gave the team the lead with 2:47 left off a jumper. Scranton tied the game twice after that, the last time at 55 with a layup from Tahaj Parland with 1:10 left before each team had a fruitless possession to set up Hamilton's game-winner.
 
Both teams found a defensive groove in the first half, holding each other to seven field goals a piece, although, Lycoming hit three 3-pointers to account for a 19-16 halftime lead.
 
Jon Spatola finished with 14 points and six rebounds for the Royals and Parlkand added 10 points and five rebounds.
 
The Warriors wrap up the season on Saturday, Feb. 17, when they face 19th-ranked Catholic at Lamade Gym at 2 p.m.
