WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After leading the Lycoming College women's soccer team to its first conference final in the program's 31-year history, junior Aubrey Williamson (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) and sophomore Mikayla Long (Lewisburg, Pa. / Lewisburg Area) became the first Warrior pair to earn all-region honors in the same season, as both were named to Region V's Third Team, the United Soccer Coaches announced on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Long and Williamson are the third and fourth soccer players in program history to earn all-region honors, joining Bella Green, who was selected in 2022, and Jordan Lazarich, who received the honor in 2016.
Long, who earned the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year award in 2023, tied for second in the league with nine goals as she picked up First Team All-Landmark Conference honors in 2024. She earned three goals against Drew, helping the Warriors earn second-seed placement in the conference. Long also added crucial goals in games against Susquehanna, Penn St.-Harrisburg, Alvernia, Mount Aloysius, and Pitt.-Greensburg. Her 18 goals are already ninth in program history.
Williamson, who led the league with nine assists en route to second-team all-conference honors, also broke the program record for career assists in the Landmark Conference Championship semifinal against Moravian with 20. She also added six goals, including game-winners against Keuka and Delaware Valley. She heads into her senior season 10th in program history with 44 career points.
Lycoming ended the 2024 season with a program record of 15 wins while finishing 15-3-2 under eighth-year head coach Kenny Fern, which surpassed the record of 12 held by the 2022 squad. The 2024 team also advanced to postseason play for only the second time — joining the 2022 team — and Lycoming won its first postseason game in the Landmark Conference Championship semifinal.
