Two in double figures against Juniata

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomores Isaiah Valentine (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) and J.J. Beagle (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) each finished in double figures to lead the Lycoming College men's basketball team, which fell to Juniata College, 80-54, in Landmark Conference action on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Lamade Gym.
 
Valentine posted 14 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals and Beagle added 11 points, four rebounds and three blocks to lead the Warriors (6-14 overall, 2-11 Landmark). Senior Brendon Blackson (Laurel, Md./Laurel) posted seven points and six rebounds and both junior Ivan Komitski (Sofia, Bulgaria/Lee Academy) and first-year Misaias Herrera (Katy, Texas/Katy Jordan) added six points, as both hit two 3-pointers.
 
The Warriors opened the game on an 11-5 run through the first 6:30, hitting 5-of-7 from the field in the early moments while Juniata hit just 1-of-4. Juniata (12-8 overall, 8-5 Landmark) scored the next 17 points though and led by 15 points with 1:52 to go before Herrera canned a pair of triples on back-to-back possessions to make it 37-26 at halftime.
 
Juniata shot 54 percent from the field in the second half (14-of-26) and 51 percent in the game (27-of-53), and opened the second half with 12 straight points.
 
Chase Husted led the Eagles with 24 points and 15 rebounds and Evan Eisenhart added 21 points and seven rebounds, as he hit five 3-pointers. Mason Hardy also added 11 points and Kyle Ruggery posted nine points and four assists.
 
The Warriors are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 3, when they host Goucher College in a Landmark Conference doubleheader, with the men playing at 2 p.m., before the women play at 4 p.m.
