Mya Wetzel (Frackville, Pa./North Schuylkill) became the 10
th player in the history of the Lycoming College women's basketball program to reach 100 career 3-pointers with her third of five first-half trifectas, but a 21-point third-quarter helped 15
th-ranked Catholic University of America pull away for a 78-50 Landmark Conference win on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Franny Murray Court.
Senior
Emily Lockard (Benton, Pa./Benton Area) had 14 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, and two blocks for her third double-double of the season. Wetzel led the team with 16 points, hitting a career-high-tying five 3-pointers to give her 102 in her career, eighth-most in program history. Additionally, she had two steals.
The Warriors (8-4 overall, 2-3 Landmark) kept it close in the first quarter thanks to three treys from Wetzel, as they shot 44 percent in the first half to keep pace with the Cardinals (12-0 overall, 4-0 Landmark), who shot 51 percent and hit 20 field goals.
Catholic outscored Lycoming, 21-3, in the third quarter to break open the game.

Ashley Yoh (Myerstown, Pa./Eastern Lebanon County) and senior
Jillian Pumputis (Westminster, Md./Westminster) each had four points and four rebounds for the Warriors. Junior
Meghan Dufner (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) added seven rebounds, as the Warriors held a 46-40 advantage in the category.
Keegan Douglas had 12 points to lead the Cardinals and Carly Mulvaney and Anna Scoblick each had 11 points. Sarah White and Amelia Kennedy each had 10. White added six assists and four steals.
The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 6, at Lamade Gym as they face Moravian University in another Landmark Conference matchup. Tip off will be at 3 p.m. following the men's basketball game at 1 p.m.
