Autumn Shahan (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Charter) scored a school-record four goals and first-year
Loghan Shelly (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) added three as the Lycoming College field hockey team started the second season after a 30-year hiatus by setting a school-record with 11 scores in a shutout of Elmira College on Friday, Sept. 1, at UPMC Field.

The Warriors broke the previous record, set in an 8-1 win over Williamsport Area Community College in 1976.

Carmen Hannon (Aldie, Va./John Champe) also added a goal and an assist and sophomore
Tayah Bauer (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita), junior
Halie Woodring (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) and sophomore
Kelly Preston (Boonton, N.J./Mountain Lakes) each also added a goal. Sophomores
Riley Marines (East Berlin, Pa./Bermudian Springs) and
Katie Loughran (Ottsville, Pa./Pennridge) each added an assist.

The Warriors (1-0 overall) broke open the game with a five-goal second quarter, with Shahan scoring three goals in the period, after Hannon scored the team's first goal in the fifth minute. Lycoming scored three more times in the third quarter, including Shahan's record fourth score, before Preston and Shelly scored in the fourth quarter.

The Soaring Eagles (0-1 overall) finished with one shot on goal as sophomore
Isabella Bobé Â (York Springs, Pa./Bermudian Springs) earned her second career shutout.

Megan Rae Burke stopped 26 of Lycoming's 50 shots.

The Warriors are back on the field on Saturday, Sept. 2, as they head to Albright College for a 4:30 p.m. matchup.
