WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Lycoming College women's soccer's
Bella Green (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) was announced as the Robert J. Sinnott '81 Award winner at the College's Senior Athlete Celebration & Athletics Recognition Banquet on Wednesday, May 10.
First presented in 2022, the Robert J. Sinnott Award is presented to a student-athlete who has made a significant contribution to the success of their team, excelled in their academic studies, and exemplified the qualities of character, courage, leadership, and determination. All traits that exemplified the award's namesake Bob Sinnott, a member of Lycoming Athletics Hall of Fame.
Green helped change the direction of the Warriors. The year before she got to Lycoming, the women's soccer team won two games. In 2019, they won 10, in 2021, 11, and in 2022, a school-record 12. She developed into a team leader during her career, becoming the example for how to practice and compete for her teammates.
Green also developed into one of the best soccer players in program history – she is one of two players to earn two First Team All-Conference honors in a career and one of two to earn All-Region honors.
She also developed into a stellar student. She earned two MAC Academic Honor Roll accolades as a business administration major and was named Academic All-MAC as a senior.
