WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – With wins from the last four singles slots, the Lycoming College men's tennis team clinched its first win over Wilkes University since 2002 in a 6-3 MAC Freedom victory on Wednesday, April 4, at Brandon Park.

The Warriors last had the upper hand over the Colonels on April 14, 2002, when they won 4-3 at home. Wilkes swept the Warriors in each of the last six matchups, but the Warriors still hold a 32-30 lead in the all-time series.

Jason Anderson (Littlestown, Pa./Littlestown), who leads the Warriors in singles wins from the No. 3 spot, kicked off the singles portion of the dual by defeating Jonah Nguyen, 6-1, 6-4 for his ninth win of the year. At No. 4, junior
Connor Albaugh (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock Township) forced a third set, falling in the first set, 6-7 (2) but came back with a 6-4, and was up 5-0 in the third set before Donovan Zong retired. First-year
Domanick Young (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) finished off Ian Williams in a third set, 6-2, 2-6, 7-5, at No. 5 and first-year
Josh Neidert (Reading, Pa./Oley Valley) notched the meet-clinching fifth point with a 3-6, 6-4, 7-5, win at No. 6 over Drew Fiedler.

Nathan Redell (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) and junior
Luke Leach (Middlebury Center, Pa./Wellsboro Area) took an 8-0 decision over Nguyen and Zong and sophomore
Mohamed Ebeid (Cairo, Egypy/Egyptian British International School) and teammate first-year
Matthew Baldridge (Damascus, Md./Damascus) beat Connor Frey and Williams, 8-2, at No. 3.

The Warriors advance to 4-5 overall and 2-0 in the MAC Freedom. Wilkes falls to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the MAC Freedom.

The Warriors return to the court on Wednesday, April 12, when they host Misericordia University in a 3:30 p.m. MAC Freedom matchup at Brandon Park.
