Joey Trout (North East, Md./St. Elizabeth) helped lift the Lycoming College baseball team to a 12-8 MAC Freedom win over FDU-Florham on Wednesday afternoon, April 19, at Muncy Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field.

The Warriors (10-20 overall, 7-12 MAC Freedom) sent 11 batters to the plate in the second inning to break open the game after it was tied at one by the Devils in the top of the inning. Trout started the inning with a single, moved to third on a single by first-year
Jack Kelly (Alexandria, Va./Alexandria City) and scored on a fielder's choice. A pair of errors kept the inning alive before sophomore
Jake Schilling (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) singled to center. Another error scored two more runs, setting up a triple to right center from first-year
Zachary Pleska (Salem, Ohio/Columbiana) and Trout brought in the seventh run with another single.

Lycoming tacked on a run in the fifth after FDU-Florham (7-25 overall, 4-14 MAC Freedom) had closed within two at 8-6, as Trout singled, took second on a wild pitch, moved to third on a groundout and scored on a sac fly from Kelly.

FDU scored twice more to close within a run at 9-8 in the sixth, but Pleska singled down the line with two outs and Trout followed with a triple to get the cushion back to two runs. In the eighth, Schilling led off with a single, moved to second on a sac bunt and scored on another triple from Pleska. Pleska later scored on an error for the 12
th run.

Reeder walked to start the game, took second on an infield single, stole third and scored on a sac fly for the first run.

Pleska finished 3-for-5 with three runs, two triples and two RBI and junior
Braden Campbell (Centerville, Utah/Cooper Hills) went 2-for-5 with a run and three stolen bases.

First-year
Zac Zaller (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) (3-1) earned the win, tossing two innings and allowing four hits and two earned runs. He struck out two. Schilling earned the save, allowing one hit in two scoreless innings. He struck out one.

Nick Rizos (1-5) took the loss, allowing five hits, two walks and two earned runs in 1 2/3 innings.

Chris Kubas led the Devils, going 2-for-4 with two runs, a double and a RBI.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, April 22, when they head to Stevens for a 3 p.m. MAC Freedom doubleheader.
