DALLAS, Pa. – Five Lycoming College baseball players notched a pair of hits, as it overcame a four-run deficit to tie the game in the seventh inning, but a grand slam from Derrick Vosburg in the bottom half of the inning lifted No. 21 Misericordia University to a 13-8 MAC Freedom win on Friday, April 14, at Tambur Field.

Braden Campbell (Centerville, Utah/Cooper Hills) went 2-for-5 with a run, a RBI and a stolen base, first-year
Kai Foster (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) went 2-for-5 with a RBI, sophomore
Jake Schilling (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) went 2-for-5 with a run, junior
Joey Trout (North East, Md./St. Elizabeth) went 2-for-5 with a run and first-year
Nick Hoheb (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) went 3-for-4 with a run. First-years
Zachary Pleska (Salem, Ohio/Columbiana) and
Josh Bottger (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Wilkes-Barre Area) each scored two runs, and first-years
Nick Reeder (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) and
Jack Kelly (Alexandria, Va./Alexandria City) each scored two runs.

Down 8-4 heading into the seventh, the Warriors rallied with one out, loading the bases when Trout and Hoheb singled before Pleska walked. Bottger followed with a walk to bring in the first run, Kelly was hit by a pitch to make it 8-6. After a fielder's choice scored Pleska, Campbell singled to left field to bring in Bottger and tie the game, but the go-ahead run was cut down at the plate to end the inning.

The Cougars (24-6 overall, 12-3 MAC Freedom) scored five in the bottom of the inning, with Vosburg's grand slam capping the rally.

After Misericordia scored three in the fifth to lead, 7-2, the Warriors responded with two in the sixth. Pleska and Bottger both singled with one out before a wild pitch set up RBI singles from both Kelly and Reeder to make it 7-4.

Misericordia took a three run lead through the first three innings before Lycoming scored its first run when Schilling, Trout and Hoheb singled to lead off the fourth before a double play scored Schilling. The Warriors scored in the fifth when Campbell reached on a throwing error and scored by hustling around from second on an infield single, sliding in under the tag at the plate, to close within 4-2.

Lycoming (8-18 overall, 6-10 MAC Freedom) pounded out 15 hits to Misericordia's nine.

Jason Sanfillippo led the Cougars, going 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBI to lead the team. T Tracey earned the win, throwing 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, allowing two hits, a walk and a strikeout.

Mark Yorio (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) (0-1) took the loss, allowing two hits and three runs in 1/3 inning.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, April 15, when they host Misericordia in a 1 p.m. doubleheader of two seven-inning games at Historic Bowman Field to wrap up the MAC Freedom series.
