WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – With two goals to open the season, senior
Owen Zimmerman (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) led the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team against Susquehanna University in a 15-7 setback in non-conference action at UPMC Field at Keiper Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 18.
Zimmerman's two goals were accompanied by three ground balls and two caused turnovers, as he moved within two goals of becoming the 13
th player in program history to reach 100 career goals. Four other Warriors found the back of the net as sophomore
Troy Scozzafava (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) scored twice as well. Sophomores
Joey Hoover (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area),
Sean Farrell (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic), and senior
Rory Hines (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) scored a goal apiece. Hoover picked up two assists.

Jakob Switzer (West Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Area) led the team with four groundballs each. Junior
Patrick Dwyer (Somerville, N.J./Immaculata) led Lycoming with two caused turnovers.

Zimmerman tied the game with an unassisted tally two minutes after Susquehanna's first goal. His second goal, also unassisted, came at the six minute mark of the third quarter, as he scored on a wraparound from the backside of the goalpost.

Hines scored at 7:18 in the second quarter as the Warriors kept possession off a shot by Zimmerman. With a man advantage, Hines fired just inside the River Hawks' defensive zone for the goal and Dwyer earned the assist.

A faceoff win for the Warriors led to Hoover's unassisted goal just three minutes later as Hoover found himself alone in the middle of the River Hawks' defense, the ball rolling behind the River Hawks' keeper after Hoover was tripped up.

Scozzafava's first goal at 5:45 in the third cut the River Hawks' lead in half, 10-5. Sophomore
Ryan Farrell (Swedesboro, N.J./Archmere Academy) cleared the ball for the Warriors to Scozzafava inside the crease. His second, with a minute remaining in the quarter, came as Hoover found Scozzafava near the crease for an easy score.

The River Hawks were led by Brennan Lorence with five goals and an assist and Chris Ciccarello, who scored four and added two assists. Ryan Prum won 21-of-23 faceoffs and grabbed 10 groundballs.

Franco made 15 saves for the Warriors and was temporarily relieved by senior
Sean Sonnie (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson), who made one save before Franco returned to play. Jozef Korpics earned the win for the River Hawks and made 11 saves on 18 shots.

The Warriors return to the field on Saturday, Feb. 25, when they travel to McDaniel College for a 1 p.m. non-conference matchup in Westminster, Md.
