BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Winning seven of the 10 bouts, including six by decision, the Lycoming College wrestling team downed Brockport, 22-9, in collegiate wrestling action at Tuttle North Gymnasium on Saturday, Feb. 11. The Warriors followed that with a 54-0 win over Niagara County Community College to finish the tri-match.
 
Sophomore 125-pounder Kaden Majcher (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run), senior 157-pounder Hunter O'Connor (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) and first-year Eli Crum (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) won in both ends of the tri-match, as the team won 14 of the 17 contested bouts.
 
The Warriors (10-5 overall) opened the match with a trio of decisions, as Majcher won 7-1 at 125, first-year 133-pounder Jaciah Whitcomb (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) won 6-3 thanks to a takedown and four-point turn in the third period and junior Wiley Kahler (Pottsville, Pa./Nativity BVM) posted an 8-4 win at 144.
 
O'Connor posted the lone bonus-point win of the match, notching a 16-5 major decision at 157 before first-years Crum and James Ellis (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) clinched the meet with 8-2 and 7-2 decisions at 174 and 184, respectively. Fourth-ranked senior Connor Fulmer (Elysburg, Pa./Southern Columbia) capped the meet with a 4-3 win over regionally-ranked Joe Yanis at heavyweight.
 
Sophomore 141-pounder Cooper Gilham (Bellefonte, Pa./Bald Eagle Area), O'Connor, sophomore 165-pounder Chase Chapman (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) and sophomore Robbie West (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry) provided pins against Niagara County Community College, as Lycoming won all 10 bouts in the 54-0 win.
 
Majcher, sophomore 149-pounder Logan Bartlett (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) and Crum each added major decision wins.
 
The Warriors now have two weeks to prepare for the NCAA Southeast Regional, which will begin on Friday, Feb. 24, at York College of Pennsylvania.
