James, Valentine in double figures against Wilkes

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Mavin James (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) and sophomore Isaiah Valentine (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) each had 11 points to lead the Lycoming College men's basketball team, which fell to a hot-shooting Wilkes University, 90-64, in Landmark Conference action at Lamade Gym on Wednesday night, Dec. 6.
 
James posted a season-high 11 points to go with four assists and a block and Valentine added two assists to go with his 11 points. Sophomore J.J. Beagle (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) and first-year Hayden Pardoe (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) added nine points a piece, with Pardoe grabbing a game-high eight rebounds. Junior Ivan Komitski (Sofia, Bulgaria/Lee Academy) added eight points, hitting two 3-pointers.
 
Wilkes (6-1 overall, 2-1 Landmark) shot 52 percent (35-of-67) in the game, leading by as many as 31 points in the game, while holding Lycoming (4-4 overall, 1-2 Landmark) to 43 percent (26-of-60).
 
Wilkes shot 65 percent (22-of-34) in the first half to build a 17-point halftime lead, 49-32, as the Colonels posted 30 points in the paint during the period. In the second half, the Colonels scored the first three points to lead by 20 and never let the team within 17 in the final 20 minutes.
 
Trent Fisher led the Colonels with 28 points, 12 rebounds and two steals and Lucas Lesko added 18 points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Joey Zvorsky added 13 points and five rebounds and Jack Argento notched 12 points.
 
The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 9, as they head to Drew University for a 2 p.m. Landmark Conference game.
