Lockard, Yoh in double figures against 18th-ranked Blue Jays

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Emily Lockard (Benton, Pa./Benton Area) and junior Ashley Yoh (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO) each finished in double figures to lead the Lycoming College women's basketball team, which fell to 18th-ranked Elizabethtown College, 84-51, on Saturday, Dec. 2, at Lamade Gymnasium in a Landmark Conference game.
Lockard had 12 points and four rebounds to lead the Warriors (5-1 overall, 1-1 Landmark) and junior Ashley Yoh (Myerstown, Pa./Eastern Lebanon County) added 11 points and four assists.
First-year Lisa Star (Wanague, N.J./Lakeland Regional) notched five blocks, five rebounds and four points. Junior Mya Wetzel (Frackville, Pa./North Schuylkill) had three 3-pointers for the Warriors and added five rebounds to go with those nine points.
In the first half of the game the Warriors played well against a frenetic pressure defense, leading 9-8, before the Blue Jays (5-2 overall, 1-1 Landmark) finished the first quarter on a 16-4 run. The Warriors even cut that lead down to 10 at the end of the first half, 41-31, but the Blue Jays shot 57 percent in the second half and held the Warriors to 25 percent to continue to build the lead.
Cyleigh Wilson led the Blue Jays with 19 points and five 3-pointers, also adding four assists. Sullivan County's Jessica King had 16 points and Loyalsock Township's Summer McNulty posted 13
The Warriors are back in action at Wilkes University in another Landmark Conference match-up on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.
