WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – It wasn't easy, as Juniata College closed within three points in the final minute, but the Lycoming College women's basketball team are proud owners of the first 5-0 start in program history, as the team opened its Landmark Conference era with a 56-51 win at Lamade Gymnasium on Wednesday night, Nov. 29.
Leading by 10 early in the fourth quarter, the Warriors (5-0 overall, 1-0 Landmark) were able to keep it a two-possession game until the final 14 seconds, when Kynnedy Miller hit the front end of a pair of free throws to make it 54-51. However, junior

The Warriors fell behind by six at 13-7 late in the first quarter, but rebounded with a 16-8 run over the final 10:30 of the first half to lead 23-21 at the half. Juniata (1-6 overall, 0-1 Landmark) was led by 13 points from Miller and Lanie Gerdich added 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Warriors get back on the court on Saturday, Dec. 2, when they host Elizabethtown College in a Landmark Conference doubleheader, with the men tipping at 2 p.m. before the women at 4 p.m.
