WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – In the home opener at UPMC Field, sophomore
Katie Maguire (Garnerville, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) scored her first career goal for the Lycoming College field hockey team in a 3-1 loss to Houghton University on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Maguire's goal came at 22:15 after a quick substitution found her at center field, ready to catch a pass from sophomore
Halie Woodring (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin), before dribbling it to the circle for the shot from left of the goal, cutting the score in half.

Houghton (2-1 overall) found themselves on the scoreboard twice before Maguire's goal, the first at 10:49 by Jace Hunzinger and then again at 17:25 in the second from Peyton Bentley. The Highlanders' final goal came in the final 12 minutes from Ciciley Haslem.

Lycoming first-year goalkeeper
Isabella Bobé (York Springs, Pa./Bermudian Springs) made 15 saves on 24 shots. Madison Tadusz earned the win for the Highlanders.Â

The Warriors (0-3 overall) return to the field on Saturday, Sept. 10, when they travel to Keuka College for a 12 p.m. start in Keuka Park, N.Y.
