Fulmer named Lycoming's Most Outstanding Male Athlete

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After becoming the third wrestler in program history to win 40 matches in a season to earn his first All-American honors, junior Connor Fulmer (Elysburg, Pa./Southern Columbia) has earned the Lycoming College Most Outstanding Male Athlete award.

Fulmer opened the year with tournament titles at the Washington & Jefferson Invitation, the Wildcat Invitational and the Ohio Northern Invitational. He won his first 29 matches of the season before his only regular season loss came in the semifinals of the MAC Championships.

He rebounded by winning his last four regular season matches, and then, despite dealing with a cut above his eye that made him look like this – he won the NCAA Southeast Region title. At the NCAA Championships, he lost his first match but rebounded with two wins the first day to earn All-American honors, finishing seventh at the tournament.

He finished the year 40-3 overall, just the third wrestler to reach 40 wins, while his 16 pins were sixth in program history.

Fulmer, who transferred to Lycoming after a year and a half at Seton Hill, immediately stepped into the starting lineup in 2020, going 16-5 in just one semester, finishing fourth at the Southeast Regional, just one win from earning a bid to the NCAA Championships.
